James Short joins as Depot Manager overseeing operations in the North West

With 15 years experience in the industry, James has actively been involved in various waste divisions, including Industrial Waste, Drainage, Industrial Cleaning, HPWJ, Spill Response, Hazardous Waste, activated Carbon and DISAB

His journey began at the age of 17 when he joined a Waste Management company in Wales as a labourer, gaining expertise across diverse divisions.

By the age of 18, James achieved his HGV Class 2, becoming one of the youngest individuals in Britain to successfully complete the government-supported young drivers scheme. Shortly thereafter, he obtained his ADR qualification.

After securing a significant contract with Reactive Severn Trent, James developed extensive experience operating a Jet Vac Unit. His specialisation encompassed tasks such as clearing blockages, executing planned drain maintenance, responding to environmental pollutions, and conducting flood clean-ups.

Subsequently, James advanced to oversee the company’s drainage division before obtaining his Class 1, enabling him to manage the Activated Carbon division alongside another manager. He further took charge of operating a transfer station and skip division, managing day-to-day operations.

Following this, James transitioned to take on the role of Tanker Operations Manager overseeing a fleet of 17 Artic tankers dedicated to collecting both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste.

We would like to take the opportunity to welcome James to the company.
